I found the room very comfortable, the food was good, the grounds were very pleasant and the leisure facilities were excellent
The location was very good,we played golf and the golf corses were very good yhr room was clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful
Bar meals and staff serving it were very good. Relaxed atmosphere
Had to wait a long time for a receptionist to come to the desk when we arrived with no obvious method of attracting attention. Access door for staff to access bar carrying meals appears dangerous. Our first main course was dropped while the waitress was trying to get in the door. An improved access needs to be made for the benifit of the staff.
The hotel is well located and conducive to a relaxing experience. Excellent breakfast.
The room we stayed in, 323, was a bit tired looking and would benefit from redecoration to the room and bathroom.
Superb hotel with great facilities including use of a great indoor pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definately stay again.....
Basic food could be served in the bar a bit later into the evening for late arrivals.....
Firstly and foremost my reasons for choosing the Windlestrae were its easy bus access (Kinross Park and ride) into Edinburgh and importantly the leisure facilities for the evening particulalry the swimming pool and steam room. The general atmosphere is quite and relaxing with an excellent morning breakfast. Excellent value for money.
The room I had was subject to noise from the swimming pool complex pumping or heating or... system overnight. Mind you I do like to sleep with the window slightly open. If you do too, perhaps on booking a request for a room not facing the complex might be advantageous.
Dinner was excellent with friendly attentive staff
Friendly people, big, comfortable and very clean room, great facilities, good breakfast
The easily accessible spa facilities and the helpfulness of the stafff.
Lack of lighting at the front door and poor lighting in the room (301)
Excellent location and facilities for walks, cycling, spa break. Loch Leven trail a short cut through at back of hotel. We took our bikes, a 30min easy cycle took us to a great park for the kids(and us big kids!). Hotel big, clean (though a little dated-in a good way, that suits the location). Would stay again, and take friends
A reasonably priced hotel in a good setting, convenient for Perth and Edinburgh and good countryside. Also convenient for us personally as it is near relatives. We are likely to use it again.
Being very critical, there was a slight smell in the room, probably originating from the cleaning materials used. The smell was not particularly offensive or we would have complained.
The staff were polite and helpful, breakfast was excellent as were the leisure facilities.
The rooms could have been cleaned better ie windows, there were also cobwebs on the lamps and pelmets. Bedding and bathroom were spotless if a bit dated.
The resturant food and staff were excellent, they were very good with attending to our needs, very quick and efficient.
The room could do with a makeover and also the cleanliness of the room left a lot to desired
The Leisure Club was very good and my two children enjoyed so much. The lady from the reception was very helpfull to try to find us an extra night at the sister hotel: The Green, just cross the road.
Very clean and comfortable, staff very helpful, excellent room with everything provided, breakfast arrangements well organised.
